The “big” news story of the weekend was the attention given to the Russian teenage pop duo Tatu and their usual publicity-seeking antics. They got some minor headlines with the news that their requests for permission to film a promo video in several trendy areas of Tokyo had been refused. They then appeared at the start of Friday night’s live TV Asahi show “Music Station” hosted by comedian Tamori. But when the time came for them to perform, it was announced that they refused to leave their dressing room. TV Asahi claim to be furious, and have complained to the Universal Music record company, saying they won’t allow their other artists to appear on the station.
